Influencing skills

Developing a manager`s ability to genuinely influence individuals and groups and gain commitment to change.

Peoples expectations of leaders and managers, both in industry and society, has changed dramatically over the last few decades. The readiness of the workforce to accept and be influenced solely by the power of hierarchy has decreased.

People are increasingly receptive to influencing approaches based around interpersonal skills such as honesty, openness, showing interest and allowing involvement.

For those who are required to influence this has generated the need to be more aware of their own and others personal styles and to choose carefully when to be prescriptive and when to use a more involving approach.
